What we turn

We turn shafts, flanges, bushes and fittings in our own workshop in Hamilton. The machines take parts up to 1 metre across and 3 metres long, and slimmer work, under 160mm in diameter, up to 5 metres long.

If you've got a long shaft or a big flange, send us the drawing and we'll tell you straight whether we can make it.

We machine plastics, copper, aluminium, stainless and hardened steel. If you're unsure which material is right for the job, tell us what the part has to do and we'll advise.

What to send us

Send the drawing, with the material, the quantity, and when you need the parts. For turned parts it also helps to know the diameter and length up front, and which dimensions are critical, so we can see at a glance which machine the job belongs on.

If your part needs milled features as well, such as flats, slots or cross holes, say so on the form. Turning and milling are both done in our workshop, so one quote can cover the part.

We take DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES, STL, PDF, JPG and PNG files. You can upload up to four on the quote form, 4MB in total, or email anything bigger.

Getting the drawing ready

On a turned part, the drawing needs to make clear which diameters and lengths are critical, where the shoulders and grooves sit, and what any threads are. If two diameters have to run true to each other, mark it, because that affects how we hold the part.

Say what finish you need on the surfaces that matter. A bearing seat and a plain shaft end aren't asked to do the same job, and the drawing is the place to say so.

How every part is checked

Every part is measured against your drawing before it leaves us. Our micrometers, calipers and gauges are calibrated and traceable, and we supply inspection paperwork, including first article reports, if your job needs it.

Working with us

We're a family run firm and we've been in Hamilton since 2006. The person who prices your job is one of the people who runs the machines, so the lead time you're given is one we can hit.

Got a breakdown? Tell us it's urgent on the form and phone us on 0141 647 5913. We'll turn it round as fast as the job allows.
